3 Reasons Why I LOVE 'The Pineapple Diaries'

Greetings Royals!

Today, I'm here to talk about a new webseries I've come to love, and that's 'The Pineapple Diaries'! Everyone knows what a pineapple is right? When you gather all your curly hair on top of your head in somekind of puff or bun, your head looks like a pinapple! I found out about this web series through Fanm Djanm, which is one of my favorite headwrap companies. The comedic series is about this group of Latina women living in a prodominately Spanish community of Jamacian Plains, Boston and their everyday lives. I think Hispanice culture and African-American culture are very similar in repects that we both come from very rich backgrounds. So I can relate to the show through a few culture references, but there are other reasons why I love it so much!

1) Its great for all women! Even though this webseries about Latina women, the series touch on everything from cat calling, bi-racial issues, and going to the salon!

2) We need to hear the voices of more modern-day minoities. I loved when Issa Rae came out with 'The Misadventures of an Akward Black Girl!' She paved the way for many Africa-American Youtubers by giving them an outlet on her channel. So I appreciate that Paloma Valenzuela, writer of The Pineapples Diaries, is giving us different perspectives from the Latino community.

3) It celebrates women as we are! Short, thick dark, bald, or culry haired, all of the cast are BEAUTIFUL!

I'm sure more reason will come up as the show contiunes because I expect even more out of 'The Pineapples Diaries.' It could touch on even juicer topics, than it already has. I think this could be a really big show if more people knew about it, so tell your friends! I'd watch this over Love & HipHop anyday! Below is the lastest espisode, and my new favorite because it's about what happens after Feliz straightens her hair! lol. Enjoy!
